Nivea Naturally Good Range

I'm a big fan of Nivea's body care but I've recently fallen in love with some of their skincare too and thought I would share. All of these products are from their Naturally Good range which is a part of their long-term commitment to using less plastic and more sustainably sourced ingredients and recycled/recyclable materials.

If you've been waiting on a review of the cleanser bar from me, sorry it took me so long but I really wanted to put it through its paces and I'm pleased to say it passed with flying colours. Read on for a full review.

And in case you didn't know Nivea now have a store on their website meaning you can buy all of their products in one place.

Suva Hydra Liners

If you follow me on Instagram you will know how much I love a colourful wing. I suck at eyeshadow so bright eyeliner is how I inject some colour into my makeup. I discovered the Suva Hydra Liners last year and I adore them. I’ve recently added some more colours to my collection and thought it was time to share them with you.

These liners are water activated cake liners that are smudge and transfer proof once they have dried. The staying power of these liners is absolutely incredible, unless you get caught in the pissing rain, then you look like a racoon at pride. They are also an intense opaque formula and the colour payoff is unlike any liner I have ever tried. One sweep packs such a punch. There are a couple different finishes including matte, metallic chrome and UV Neon. I think all the shades I have are the UV formulas so they glow in the dark under UV and blacklight. In normal light, they are just a matte finish and super bright. They are also vegan and cruelty free.

Current Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

If you've followed me for a while you will know I have been battling with (and moaning about) horrendously dry skin. My face was like the Sahara and I couldn't wear foundation without it cracking on my skin and making me look like I had scales. I had finally accepted that foundation wasn't for me. However, I am pleased to report I have mastered my skincare and I now have a nice plump and hydrated face. So I thought I'd share what has worked for me. Obviously, I am not an expert and I know next to nothing about skincare. This has just been many years of trial and error. Also needs to be noted that I drink a lot of water because I also have a forever dry mouth (it's a meds side effect) and I've cut out dairy which helped with my breakouts.

Glossier Review

Glossier is a highly talked about brand. I've seen a lot of people raving about their skincare along with their simple makeup. They are all about dewy, glowy skin and promote perfecting your skincare first, makeup second. I haven't tried many of their products but the ones that I have, have been a bit of a mixed bag. There are products that I absolutely adore and are now a staple in my routine and a few that I think are overhyped *cough Boy Brow cough*. I do definitely think they are worth checking out though.

The Body Shop Review - Every Product I've Tried

Well, this is going to be quite the post. Just doing the pictures and the links took me forever. Who knew I had tried so many Body Shop products. I knew I liked their skincare but I didn't realise I loved so many products. This is a bumper review post of every Body Shop product I have ever tried which amounts to 45 products including skincare, body products and makeup. I've grouped them in their ranges to try and make it easier for you if you are looking for a review on a specific product. So let's jump in.

Read In Jan 2021

I didn't know whether to bring back my monthly roundups of books I've read but it's such a good way of keeping track of what I've read (I am also on Goodreads though). My mum also uses it to work out what to read next so I guess it's here to stay. I've started off the year well with 6 books under my belt so hoping to keep it up and smash my goal of 80 books this year (you can check out my faves from last year as well). Anyway, here's what I read last month. As usual, they are all murder related.

Top Books of 2020

I was hoping that all this extra time we had in 2020 would mean that I could read more but alas it didn't happen. Between moving back in with my parents to a houseful of people and a building site, getting a horse and the general poor concentration of a pandemic I didn't quite reach my reading goal. I had a good go though. I managed to read 66 books out of the 80 I planned. 4 short of 2019's achievement (You can see my favourites from then here). So I've set it at 80 again and we'll see how we go. In the meantime, I thought I'd share my favourite books of the year with you. In no particular order, we have

2020 Beauty Favourites

So this was supposed to be my first post back but I didn't have any photos sorted. As you can see I never mustered the energy to try and take photos of my makeup in the crappy winter lighting so I opted for a collage instead and actually had a lot of fun making it. Photos is normally what stops me from posting because it's hard work on my body so I think this might be the thing that actually gets me posting more. I'm going to do a mix of these kinds of images and actual photos when my body is cooperating. Here's to hopefully posting more than a handful of times in 2021.

I thought my first post back would be the beauty products I reached for most last year. I mean I wore makeup a handful of times but these were the items I used and loved. I've finally got my skincare sorted so my makeup applies so much better and I enjoy it so much more. You can also see how my loves have changed by checking out my posts from - 2016 - 2017 - 2018 - 2019

Equestrian Winter Essentials

Surprise, I'm back. I can't believe how long it's been since I last wrote on here. The pandemic just wiped out all of my motivation and concentration. I also got a horse which meant that getting our land and stables ready for William took up a big chunk of my life and energy. We're all settled in now and I think I'm finally ready to get my shit together and actually start writing on here again. Now, this wasn't actually supposed to be my first post back but this one is finished and the other one is not. Hopefully my 2020 beauty faves will be out on Friday.

We all know I am a Summer fan (if we ignore the heat triggered migraines). I hate being cold and the rain gets on my nerves. So getting a horse in September was not my brightest idea. I have however found as many ways as possible to make leaving the house in the am hours (I am not a morning person) whilst it's freezing slightly more bearable. Plus having William's cute face waiting for me makes it all worthwhile.
