Glossier Review

Glossier is a highly talked about brand. I've seen a lot of people raving about their skincare along with their simple makeup. They are all about dewy, glowy skin and promote perfecting your skincare first, makeup second. I haven't tried many of their products but the ones that I have, have been a bit of a mixed bag. There are products that I absolutely adore and are now a staple in my routine and a few that I think are overhyped *cough Boy Brow cough*. I do definitely think they are worth checking out though.

Collage of glossier products including the milky jelly cleanser, balm dotcoms and priming moisturiser

1. Milky Jelly Cleanser - £15 - I adore this cleanser. When I first tried it I was confused as to what all the hype was about because when you first apply it it doesn't feel like it's doing anything. However, once you apply water it becomes a beautiful silky moisturising cleanser. My face feels instantly hydrated as well as clean. I use this for my morning cleanse because it leaves my skin ready for makeup application but it also washes off super easily so I don't have to faff about when I'm still half asleep. I also use this when my skin is irritated or sore because it is so gentle. I can get clean skin without aggravating it anymore.  I've already repurchased this once and will definitely be buying again.

2. Balm Dotcom - £10 - I love these lip balms, mainly because they all smell so damn good. I have 4 of the flavours and my brother loves the mint one. I think my favourite is the birthday cake one closely followed by cherry. The tinted ones are perfect for a touch of colour on a no/minimal makeup day but the sparkle of the birthday balm is my favourite. Also tastes just like cake haha. I find they really nourish my lips and a little bit goes a long way. I make sure to apply some before all of my winter horse rides meaning my lips survived winter pretty much chap free.

3. Priming Moisturiser - £18 - My skin always needs a moisturising primer before any sort of base product and this one is perfect. It's light but still provides my skin with some much needed moisture without being greasy. It's the perfect base and my makeup applies like a dream over it. Definitely one to try if you have dry skin.

4. Future Dew - £23 - I'm all about a dewy base but this just makes me look oily af which is impressive as my skin is like the desert. It would probably work well if you have a matte foundation you want to be dewier but most of my foundations are dewy already so it's just a bit much for me.

5. Lip Gloss - £11 - I weirdly became a gloss person last year and I have to say it's so much comfier than a matte lip. This is a thick comfortable gloss with a good shine and isn't sticky but it's nothing special. I don't reach for it very often as I tend to opt for my Fenty ones.

6. Boy Brow - £14 - Everyone raves about this but I'm not sold. It's pricey for a small tube and I prefer the NYX one** which is cheaper and bigger. It's a good enough brow product but I find the tiny brush is forever gloopy and gets clogged. It does fluff up the brows nicely and keep them in place but it also deposits colour onto the skin so I find it best to brush through with a clean spoolie afterwards.

7. You Perfume - £45 - Oh my god I am obsessed with this perfume. When I first tried it I was a little bit disappointed because once I had applied it I couldn't smell it on myself anymore. However, I get so many compliments on this scent. It smells heavenly without being overpowering. It's my cheapest perfume but the one I reach for the most. I'm not normally one for a signature scent but I wear this one most days. It's a nice light fragrance with the perfect mix of sweet and woodsy. I suck at describing scents so I'll tell you what they say about it.

"First, you smell the pink pepper—the bright, sparkling, spicy top note that makes a good first impression. Then you get into the woodsy, slightly sweet heart of the scent that comes from ambrette seeds and warm, ambery ambrox. It’s balanced with iris, a white floral, for a creamy freshness." - Glossier
