April 2018 Favourites

I don't want to jinx it but I seem to be on a roll with posts at the moment. It feels so good to actually be posting again. I can't remember the last time I wrote and posted regularly. It's definitely been about 6 months.

Anyway April has flown by. My baby brother is now 19 and I feel super old. May means I turn 25. On the plus side my car insurance finally goes down a lot because apparently over 25 year olds drive like saints. My best friend also gets married in May and I cannot wait for the big day. Plus I'll be reunited with all my uni friends. We haven't seen each other in forever. May is going to be a good month. I can feel it.

So here's what I loved in April. Once again it's a fair bit of skincare. I feel like next month there will be more makeup featured.

April 2018 Favourites
NYX Epic Ink Liner - £9

It would seem I have made it my mission to try a billion different liquid liners to find the one. I will have a round up post soon. This little beauty from NYX is a good contender though and it is one of the cheapest ones I have tried. The pigment from this is incredible and the flexible nib makes application a dream. You don't need much pressure behind it which is perfect for my crappy hands. The first few times I used this I struggled to get a smooth line because you only have to graze the skin and you have a super black line. However, now that I am used to it I get fierce, bold wings which are super black. It also doesn't seem to transfer but I definitely need to test it a bit more. If you want a super black liner under a tenner I highly recommend this one.

Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel - £2.50

I'm pretty lazy when it comes to my brows. I was blessed with full brows (which I hated as a teen) so I tend to just whack a brow gel through them. I was using the Barry M one but I've definitely fallen out of love with it. This is the only cruelty free one I've managed to find near me but I actually love it. It's under 3 quid and it does the job perfectly.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Buff - £18

I have wanted to try one of the ABH lipsticks forever. I was doing some online window shopping on Beauty Bay when I saw they had 30% off the lipsticks. It was fate so obviously I had to buy 2. I wanted a new nude for minimal makeup days. I picked this one for 2 reasons 1. It is a gorgeous rosy nude shade and 2. My nickname is Buff so I had to have it. I am in love with the shade but I also adore the formula. It glides on, has amazing pigmentation and is so comfortable to wear. It also has pretty great staying power for a bullet lipstick. I feel like I will definitely be getting more.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 - £5.90

I have wanted to try some of The ordinary skincare for forever. I finally took the plunge and spent the grand total of £26 on 5 products. Actual bargain. I think this one is my favourite so far. I apply this morning and night and it helps my dry skin so much. I will have a post up on all the products I bought when I've tried them for a bit longer

Youth Lab Daily Cleanser For Normal to Dry Skin - £11.50

I saw this on Beauty Bay when I was buying my lipsticks and it sounded perfect for my skin. It seems to be working pretty well. It's gentle enough for my sensitive skin but it leaves my face feeling nice and clean. It's cleansing and hydrating. It claims to purify the skin whilst balancing both sebum production and natural moisture levels. It also smells pretty good.  I've got a few breakouts at the moment because I gave into the Dominos craving. Damn dairy. Apart from that though my skin has been pretty good recently.

Bravura London Lactic Acid 10% Peel - £9.59

Okay this beautiful bottle of acid has changed my life. When I remembered to use it regularly at the beginning of the month my skin had never felt so hydrated. I could actually wear foundation without it cracking.  I was a bit scared to use it at first because it's acid and my face can be temperamental but I am in love. You put it on and then rinse after 5 mins. I then wake up with plump, hydrated glowing skin. I don't think I could live without it now.

Blistex Intensive Moisturiser Cherry - £2.69

When I wear makeup I tend to wear matte lipsticks so I need my lips to be nice and hydrated. Like my dry skin, eyes and mouth I also suffer from dry/cracked lips. I apply this at least twice a day and my lips look and feel so much better. It also smells like cherry drops.
